Design
A trained and experienced eye is essential for imaginative garden design. With our own in-house design specialist we can show you just how your dream garden will look. Our designer will work closely with you from the original consultation and concept through construction and planting to the finished garden, giving you continuity and consistency.
From traditional to contemporary, the design of a garden or commercial landscape might be as simple as a planting scheme for a particular area, patio or bed, through to full design and construction for an entire garden or site. But whatever it is, it needs to start with some well thought through design.

The process is really very simple:
Initial visit
We will discuss and explore your thoughts and ideas, finding out what you want from your garden and any specific requirements.
We will identify any existing features you wish to keep, anything you want add and what sort of planting you prefer.
We will also establish how much money you want to spend and when you want the work done.
At this stage, should you wish us to proceed with the project, and require a design, will ask you to sign a simple agreement for the design, and the initial design fee would be payable, once the design has been finalised. Prices start at £s;375 + VAT, depending on the size of the project, However if you instruct us to carry out the full construction/planting in order to complete the job, we will deduct the design fee from the final bill (up to a maximum of £s;600).
If you require a design plan, we will carry out a simple garden survey, so that we have the correct measurements showing us what your garden looks like at present, so that we know what we will be working with. (Some simple designs, small features or changes to an existing garden may not require a plan, so this stage can be left out. However, for peace of mind we would recommend a plan as it makes sure that everybody knows what is being done and what it will look like.)
Presentation visit
Shortly after the initial visit we will be ready to present drawings of our initial design ideas and concepts to you. This will be an open discussion where you can tell us what you like and what you would like changed. You can make as many or few alterations as you wish. We will give you a rough idea of how much certain elements will cost and advise on the different materials that can be used. Once you are happy with the design we will move on to the next stage.
Final plan
A highly detailed, hand-drawn plan will be supplied clearly showing how your new garden or landscape will look. It will include descriptions and annotated notes, as well as planting schedules and other important details. This will form the basis of all work on the garden. We will also provide a detailed costing of the entire project so that you know exactly what is included and how much it will cost. We will discuss the timing schedule, indicating key stages throughout the project and establish a mutually convenient starting date. We will do everything in our power to stick to any dates given, and we will always let you know as soon as possible should timings change as a result of circumstances beyond our control. For larger projects it is possible to phase the work over a period of time if that suits you. You will need to pay for the design work and each stage as it is completed with the cost of the drawings being deducted from the final bill when the last phase has been completed.
Commence work
At this point you will be introduced to one of our teams who will undertake all your work. You will have a regular point of contact at all times and are always free to contact the office should there be any other questions you need answering.
Depending on the design of your garden or commercial landscape, the next stage may involve garden and landscape construction or horticulture and planting services, or both.
